What may and may not be asked for on Reward.Farm. This policy is part of the Terms of Service and applies to every reward, every proof and every message on the platform.
Why this policy is short and strict
Reward.Farm pays real people to take real actions online. That makes it useful, and it also makes it an obvious target for anyone wanting to buy fake credibility or push work that a platform, or the law, forbids. The rules below are the ones a moderator applies, and the checklist of a reward is the reference in any dispute.
Never allowed
Anything illegal, in the country of the Architect, of the Farmer, or of the platform being acted on.
Fake or incentivised reviews where they mislead. You may pay someone to try your product and write an honest review, including a negative one. You may not pay for a rating, dictate the verdict, condition payment on a positive opinion, or ask that the incentive be hidden where disclosure is required.
Breaking another platform’s rules. Artificial engagement, vote manipulation, follow-for-pay schemes, multiple accounts, or anything a target platform’s terms prohibit. If completing the reward would get the Farmer banned somewhere, it does not belong here.
Targeting or harming a person. Harassment, brigading, doxxing, mass reporting, or any reward built around a named individual.
Collecting personal data without a lawful basis and the person’s knowledge.
Impersonation, of a person, a company, or an official body.
Adult content, gambling, weapons, drugs, or financial products requiring a licence we do not hold.
Anything asking a Farmer to install unknown software, disable security measures, or hand over their own account credentials.
Allowed, and what makes it work
- Testing an app or a flow and reporting what broke
- Producing original content about a product the Farmer actually used
- Honest reviews, where the verdict is the Farmer’s alone
- Filling a research survey or a usability study
- Checking a page, a price or an availability in a given country
A good reward names a verifiable action, not an opinion to hold. “Install the app, complete onboarding, send a screenshot of the final screen and one sentence on what confused you” is a reward. “Leave us five stars” is not.
Disclosure
Where a Farmer is paid to publish something publicly, the reward must instruct them to disclose it wherever the platform or the law requires, and that disclosure may never be presented as optional.
Proof and privacy
Proof must show the work, and nothing more. Do not upload screenshots containing someone else’s personal data, private messages, or anything you would not be comfortable a moderator reading, because a moderator will read it if a dispute opens.
Enforcement
A reward that breaches this policy is removed. Committed funds return to the Architect, minus anything already owed to a Farmer who completed the work in good faith before removal: a Farmer is never left unpaid for work an Architect should not have asked for.
Repeated or deliberate breaches end the account. Anything that appears criminal is reported.
Reporting
Any signed-in user can report a reward from its page. Reports reach a moderator directly. If something is urgent, write to abuse@reward.farm.
